August 21, 2019 - Thunderstorm Wind

Emergency manager reported extensive tree damage from the Catawba County line through the Sharon community. The magnitude of the damage weakened from there, but multiple trees and power lines were reported down as far east as the city of Statesville. Several homes were damaged by fallen trees in the western part of the county.

Trained spotter reported trees and power lines blown down on Kentwood Rd. Public reported (via Social media) a tree blown down on Elementary Rd and Old Farm Rd. Also, another spotter reported trees and lines down on Friendship Rd north of Statesville.

Numerous reports of trees uprooted or snapped and power lines blown down in the Statesville area. Siding and awnings were stripped from some homes. Several trees were blown across I-40, bringing traffic to a stop.
