The Barrow County Emergency Manager reported numerous trees and power lines blown down from Northwest of Winder to Statham.

September 11, 2017 - Tropical Storm

Local news media reported a significant number of trees and many power lines were blown down across the county. Many customers were without electricity for varying periods of time. A wind gust of 51 mph was recorded near Winder. Radar estimated between 2 and 4 inches of rain fell across the county with 3.18 inches measured near Winder. No injuries were reported.

A trained spotter reported trees and powerlines down northeast of Russell.

February 16, 2015 - Ice Storm

The Barrow Emergency Manager reported around 100 trees down and numerous traffic accidents due to freezing rain accumulations of up to a quarter inch across the county. Power was out across much of the county from the evening of the 16th into the morning of the 17th.
