Severe thunderstorm winds downed a tree onto a house in Lawrenceburg and also downed power lines. Damages are a rough estimate.

The Lawrence County emergency manager reported that severe thunderstorm winds downed a power line onto a vehicle at Ada and Palmer Road in Lawrenceburg. No injuries were reported. Damages are a rough estimate.

A mesonet station near Lawrenceburg measured a peak non-thunderstorm wind gust of 62 mph. Several hours of severe winds led to numerous damage reports of downed and uprooted trees, downed powerlines, and roof and other property damage. The worst of the damage was reported near Lawrenceburg where a roof was torn off of an unoccupied building north of Locust Avenue and Weakly Creek Road. A strip mall in Lawrenceburg also sustained structure damage. Damages are estimated.

Severe winds associated with a thunderstorm caused damage in the Lawrenceburg area. Along Quail Drive and along Old Florence Pulaski Road, several power poles were downed. This knocked out power to the northern half of the town. Damages are estimated.

A strong EF-2 tornado touched down just northeast of the city of Waynesboro between Highway 64 and Highway 99. The tornado increased in intensity rapidly as it tracked through neighborhoods along Highway 99. A few trees and outbuildings were blown down and destroyed at the beginning of the track before the tornado moved across Steele Street, Hassell Drive, High Street, and Natural Bridge Road, taking the roofs off several homes and causing one minor injury. Five high power TVA electrical steel poles were bent to the ground in this area, knocking out power to all of Wayne County. Continuing northeastward, the tornado destroyed a barn on York Road and damaged several homes on Fortyeight Creek Road. The tornado then moved through rural, forested and hilly terrain with few roads for a total of 22.2 miles across northeast Wayne, extreme southern Lewis, and extreme northwestern Lawrence Counties, blowing down hundreds of trees before finally lifting around 4 miles northwest of Summertown.

The tornado weakened as it moved into rural eastern Lawrence County where mostly trees, outbuildings, and a barn were damaged. The tornado lifted just before reaching the Lawrence/Giles County line.

This EF-1 tornado touched down along Riddle Lane causing tree damage as well as damage to the outfield wall at the Loretto Sports Complex. The tornado traveled east-northeast taking down additional trees and power lines. On Highway 43, the First Farmers Bank sign was blown down as the tornado continued across the highway into an open field before intensifying and causing damage to several homes in a neighborhood. Numerous large trees were snapped/uprooted. At this point, the tornado was at its widest at around 300 yards. The tornado then weakened east of Methvin Road. However, the weakening was short-lived as the tornado caused complete destruction to a well-built detached garage on Jason's Way. Tree and outbuilding damage continued until the tornado lifted near John Chapel Road. Max winds were estimated at 105 mph.

Power lines were blown down on Waterloo Road at HH Lane.

This EF-1 tornado touched down on Bluff Road causing minor roof damage to a home and breaking several large limbs outside the home. A nearby barn was heavily damaged. It traveled to the northeast where it encountered an oversized mobile home. Indications were that the strapping on the mobile home was rusty and not tied down well, allowing it to roll over. Winds here did seem strongest, however, topping out at 90 mph. The resident of the mobile home was able to escape to safety as he received the warning a couple minutes prior to the tornado striking his home. The tornado continued northeast and when it crossed South Ball Park Road, it demolished 2 hay barns and caused minor roof damage to 2 homes. As the tornado approached the city of Loretto, it caused extensive damage to the city's sports complex behind South Lawrence Elementary. Three cinder block dugouts were destroyed, two large sections of bleachers were tossed 25 to 30 yards and there was minor roof damage to the concession stand and an outbuilding where maintenance equipment was stored. Special thanks to the South Lawrence Elementary staff for provding video evidence of the tornado as it moved through the area. As the tornado approached Hwy 43, several homes were damaged by uprooted trees and there was some minor roof damage to a large outbuilding at a wood yard on 2nd Avenue. The tornado finished up by taking down power lines on the west side of Highway 43 near Vine Street and blowing down a few trees on the east side of Highway 43 before lifting. This tornado path was adjusted and extended slightly in May 2020 due to newly available Google Earth high resolution satellite imagery.

An NWS storm survey along with Lawrence County Emergency Management indicated a severe 4 mile long by 1/4 mile wide downburst struck the Leoma area. West of Leoma, 40 to 50 trees were blown down along Shoal Creek Road with 4 homes damaged from falling trees. Numerous more large trees and power lines were blown down in Leoma near the Leoma Baptist Church, with one tree falling onto and heavily damaging a house on Dunn Leoma Road. A billboard and outbuilding were also significantly damaged. Based on radar, damage also likely extended west and east of the path indicated here into inaccessible areas without roads. Winds were estimated up to 80 mph.

Several trees were blown down across Lawrenceburg, with most trees and some power lines downed in David Crockett State Park.

Lawrence County Emergency Management reported a microburst caused wind damage across northern Lawrenceburg. The roof was blown off a building on May Street and a power pole was snapped on Massey Avenue. Several trees were also blown down.

Scattered trees and power lines were knocked down, including tree limbs that blocked Pulaski Highway near New Prospect. Many roads and schools were closed.

A tree fell on top of a resident's car and a power line was also downed at the 200 block of Nixon Avenue in Lawrenceburg. The car, a 2000 Nissan Maxima, sustained extensive damage, was inoperable, and was towed away from this road.

One quarter to one half of an inch of ice accumulations on trees, power lines, and other exposed surfaces caused scattered to widespread power outages across the county. Newspaper reported that two warming stations had to be opened to assist the 1,200 people without power and anyone who was dependent on medical equipment was directed to local hospitals for assistance. A few shallow rooted trees were reported down along with several power lines arcing in Lawrenceburg also.
