June 13, 2022

An isolated severe storm moved southeast across Lake Michigan from near Milwaukee and produced numerous reports of large hail up to an inch in diameter and significant wind damage in the form of hundreds of downed trees, tree limbs and numerous power lines from near South Haven southeast to Vicksburg. Damage was significant and cleanup was still occurring for nearly two weeks after the storms struck.

Damaging wind gusts resulted in downed trees, tree limbs and power lines on July 29th. Most of the damaging wind gusts occurred near to southwest of a line from Holland to Kalamazoo and Portage.

Widespread wind damage occurred as a result of severe thunderstorms that moved across the I-94 corridor from Kalamazoo east to Jackson after midnight into the early morning hours of July 1st. Over 30,000 people lost power due to the storms and widespread wind damage near to south of I-94 included numerous downed trees, limbs, and power lines. A wind gust of 74 mph was measured at Brooks field in Calhoun county and a storm survey concluded that winds likely reached 80 to 90 mph near to northeast of Albion in Calhoun county.
