October 18, 2006 - Thunderstorm Wind

Thunderstorms produced a wind gust measured at 54 knots as they struck the Burnet Municipal Airport. Moving northeastward near 25 mph, they produced winds estimated as high as 60 knots, blowing down trees and power lines in the city of Burnet, and tearing the roof off a barn. Sporadic wind damage persisted as the storms continued to knock over trees and power lines between Burnet and Briggs.
