Belmont Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
Three pole barns and one small barn all located southwest of Belmont suffered severe damage with the lost of the roofs and some walls collapsed. Large trees uprooted and snapped in Belmont. Trees down on one house causing severe roof damage and a couple mobile homes suffering minor damage from fallen trees or the high winds. Scattered trees and power lines were reported down throughout the remainder of the county.
Law enforcement reported damage in a 15-mile wide swath from southwest of Belmont to Woodford from thunderstorm wind gusts estimated at 75 mph (65 knots). Downed trees blocked roads and fallen power lines caused power outages in the towns of Belmont, Argyle and Darlington. Six homes were damaged, and a 100-year-old 38 foot by 100 foot barn was flattened on a farm near Argyle, damaging a tractor inside.
