Bourbonnais Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
Trees, tree limbs and power lines were blown down in Bradley. The hardest hit areas were Blatt and Meadowview subdivisions, west of Kennedy Drive. A 60 inch diameter tree on Marla Terrace was snapped at its base and fell onto a pickup truck, a garage and another vehicle in the garage.
Large tree limbs fell onto power lines at Route 113 and Tower Road. The downed lines caused a small grass fire.
A large tree was struck by lightning in an alley near Kennedy Drive and North Street. The tree then fell on to three cars, destroying two of them. Power lines were also brought down by the falling tree.
A parked car on North Blaine Avenue was destroyed by a large tree that was blown down onto it. Another car on Goodwin Street sustained significant damage after a large tree limb fell on it. An SUV on South Grand Avenue suffered major damage after a large tree limb fell onto the roof. Some trees were uprooted. Numerous trees, tree limbs and power lines were blown down throughout Bradley.
Several houses received minor wind damage with five homes suffering significant damage. Numerous trees, tree limbs and power lines were blown down. Three people suffered minor injuries from flying debris. One man was injured when part of a roof landed on his vehicle.
