Power Outage in Bowling Green, VA

Over 200 power outages were reported due to a storm near Interstate 95 in northern Caroline county.

Trees and power lines were knocked down throughout Caroline County, especially near Bowling Green. This resulted in thousands of power outages in the county.

Snowfall total of 8.0 inches was reported at Bowling Green. Snowfall total of 6.0 inches was reported at (1.7 ENE) Ruther Glen. Snowfall total of 5.7 inches was reported at (3 N) Hanover. The weight of the heavy, wet snow downed several trees across the county, resulting in widespread power outages.

Intense low pressure moving east northeast across Virginia and off the Delmarva coast produced minor ice accumulations from freezing rain and strong winds across portions of central Virginia. This resulted in downed trees and power lines, and scattered power outages due to the combination of wind and ice.
