Power Outage in Brandon, MS

A large tree was blown down between Louis Wilson and Sunset Drive. Trees were also blown down and partially blocked Highway 80. Trees also were blown down onto power lines north of Brandon.

Power lines were blown down in the city of Brandon.

A few trees and power lines were blown down at Page McDill Road and Highway 80.

This tornado touched down near Hemphill Drive and moved northeast dissipating just north of Old Lake Road. As the tornado moved through a residential area, it destroyed a few dozen trees and several power lines. The most substantial damage occurred near Old Lake Road where several trees fell on a home and caused significant roof damage.

Numerous trees were blown down north of Brandon off highway 471. The swath of damage occurred from around the Fox Bay subdivision south-south westward to Luckney Road. Within this area numerous trees were blown down along with a couple of power lines.

Numerous trees and power lines were blown down east of Brandon. On Shiloh Road, one barn had pieces of the roof pealed off and a home was damaged by the flying debris from the barn.

Two trees and 4 power poles were blown down along Highway 80 at Crossgates East.

This weak tornado touched down on Baker Lane a few miles west of Highway 471, 5 miles north of Brandon. Four homes sustained minor roof damage and one shed was destroyed. Several trees were snapped, 2 were uprooted and 2 power poles were torn down.

A few power lines were blown down.

An intense microburst occured over and around Brandon, MS on the evening of August 6th. This microburst downed numerous trees and powerlines as well as blowing down a billboard along Interstate 20. Twenty homes sustained minor damage.

Several trees were blown down. A few powerlines were knocked down by fallen trees and limbs. Several road signs were blown down.

Several tree limbs and a couple of small trees were blown down, and fallen limbs knocked down several power lines. A few road signs were damaged. Personnel at the fire department estimated non-severe winds of 35 - 40 mph with this storm.

Several trees were blown down causing minor damage including some downed power lines.
