Thunderstorms with gusty outflow winds developed across portions of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area during the evening hours on August 10th and some of the stronger storms affected the community of Buckeye. According to a report from local law enforcement, a thunderstorm 1 mile southeast of Buckeye produced microburst winds that downed one power pole as well as several trees. Wind gusts were estimated to be as high as 65 mph. The thunderstorm damage occurred near the intersection of Highway 85 and South Miller Road.
