Power Outage in Bude, MS

Tropical storm force wind gusts resulted in widespread trees and power lines down across the county. Numerous roads were closed or impassable due to fallen trees. Power outages were also widespread due to numerous trees that had fallen across power lines. The Bude RAWS station recorded a peak wind gust of 67 miles per hour.

Freezing rain quickly accumulated on trees and power lines during the afternoon. Ice amounts ranged from around 0.25 inches in the eastern half of the county to around 0.40 inches in the western half. Numerous trees and power lines were downed by the weight of ice and caused widespread power outages especially in the western half of the county.

Three houses were damaged due to trees falling on them, and one mobile home had a tree fall on it. Trees also fell on two sheds.

This weak tornado touched down about 3 miles south of Meadville and tracked north northeast for a little over 5 miles where it crossed Barlow Road. The front porch of a restaurant was blown off as the tornado crossed near the intersection of Highway 98 and Old Highway 84. Max winds were around 85 mph.
