Power Outage in Carrollton, IL

Thunderstorm winds blew down several trees across the northern portions of the county. In White Hall, a few power lines were blown down as well.

Widespread wind damage across Greene County. In White Hall, numerous large tree limbs were blown down. Several of the limbs knocked down power lines. In Carrollton, a couple of large trees were snapped off near the base. In Greenfield, a large tree was snapped off and another tree was snapped off 4 miles northeast of Greenfield.

A hay wagon was blown onto U.S. Highway 67 between White Hall and Carrolton. In Carrolton, a couch was blown onto U.S. Highway 67. In Greenfield, several power lines were blown down.

The tornado first touched down about 200 yards south of County Road 1150, about 80 yards west of U.S. Highway 67, damaging a four car garage. The roof of the garage was mostly removed from the structure with some small sections of the roof displaced a quarter of a mile to the north in an open field. The tornado travelled to the north over County Road 1150 and snapped some medium sized tree limbs. One power pole was snapped in this area. Also, a medium size storage unit was damaged with pieces of the storage unit displaced over 100 yards to the north. The tornado moved north nearly parallel to 6th Street where small and large tree limbs were snapped. Several witnesses including the local street department observed the tornado as it entered and moved through a residential area west of downtown Carrollton. One home near the southern part of the residential area sustained minor roof damage with shingles removed from the roof. The tornado crossed Illinois Route 108 just west of U.S. Highway 67 before lifting and dissipating. Mainly small to medium tree limbs were blown down as the tornado travelled north through this area. The path length of the tornado was approximately 1.44 miles and had a damage width which varied between 40 and 60 yards. The damage was rated EF0.

Thunderstorm winds blew down several power lines, power poles and trees along Illinois Routes 100/16 just west of intersection with Sandridge Road. Also, a large shed was destroyed in this location. The roof of the shed was blown off and thrown south across Illinois Routes 100/16 into a field.

Ice accumulations across Greene County were generally around 1/4 inch Tree limbs were reported down and there were scattered power outages.

A line of severe storms moved through Greene county. Several power lines and trees were blown down between East Hardin and Roodhouse.

Thunderstorm wind gusts downed some large tree limbs and power lines. The local power company reported that over 35 customers lost power in Carrollton.

The County EMA Director reported some power poles down in Roodhouse. Some windows were broken at homes in Hillview due to golfball size hail.

The County Sheriff Department reported nickel size hail near White Hall. Thunderstorm wind gusts also downed trees and power lines in Greenfield.

A severe thunderstorm caused scattered damage across Greene County. At Wrights, trees were down and a machine shed was severely damaged by wind gusts. In the Greenfield area, trees and power lines were down and a 2 car garage lost its door and part of the roof.
