Conowingo Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
A severe thunderstorm knocked down several trees and wires throughout Cecil County. The combination of damaging winds and lightning caused about 2,000 homes and businesses in the county to lose power. Power was not fully restored until the afternoon of the 21st. Heavy rain from the thunderstorm also flooded Delaware Avenue in Elkton.

A squall line of severe thunderstorms caused wind damage across the northern tier of Cecil County. Numerous trees were knocked down. The hardest hit area was in the northeast part of the county around Fair Hill. Trees fell into pools, driveways and at least one home in the Thabar Development off of Little Egypt Road and on Black Oak Drive. Patio furniture was also tossed. In North East, a tree fell onto a trailer. About 12,000 homes and businesses lost power.
