Crowley Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
The tornado started near Lyons Point Hwy and Kite Rd before continuing southeast rapidly. Roughly 8 outbuildings were destroyed along a subdivision on Sally Road. Another 7 to 10 homes sustained roof damage, along with a camper that was flipped into a home. An outbuilding was destroyed at the intersection of Homer Adams and Highway 1115. One injury occurred as a male crawfish farmer was hit by the tornado while harvesting crawfish in a boat. The tornado continued southeast across Jardell Rd where powerlines were damaged before lifting at Muskrat Rd. The maximum estimated wind speeds were 90 mph.

Wind gusts to around 80 mph and heavy rainfall lead to numerous downed trees and power lines across the parish. Flooding at numerous locations was reported from heavy rainfall. Moderate flooding occurred along Bayous Nezpique and Des Cannes.
There was a voluntary evacuation for the parish. Numerous trees power lines and poles were blown down across the parish, with the western side seeing more and the eastern side seeing less. Homes and businesses were damaged from fallen trees or from wind. Low-lying areas around church point flooded from the heavy rains. Over 60 percent of the parish was without power immediately after the storm. A 68-year-old male died from a fallen tree. Wind gusts ranged from 60 to 80 mph.

Episodes
A tornado originated in northern Acadia Parish, remaining in rural areas and blowing down trees and power lines, and damaging a few barns. This tornado moved into St. Landry Parish.
Four power poles and lines were pushed down across Highway 90.
Trees and power lines were downed, scattered across Acadia Parish. Minor damage occurred to homes and outbuildings. On I-10, an 18-wheeler was blown over due to the high winds.
A small tornado moved across northern Acadia Parish, downing trees and power lines in its path. Several mobile homes along Highway 91, 1.5 miles north of Iota were damaged. A half dozen barns were also destroyed. Large, high powered utility poles were blown down half a mile west of Mowata.
Trees and power lines were downed between Rayne and Church Point in eastern sections of Acadia Parish.
