Thunderstorm winds blew multiple trees down on Mount Rush Highway at the Buckingham/Appomattox county line. These same winds also downed a tree onto a power line on Union Church Road. Damage values are estimated.

Skywarn-trained weather spotters and members of the general public observed ice accumulations from freezing rain ranging from 0.13 to 0.25 inches in thickness across portions of Buckingham County, including around the communities of Gold Hill, Tower Hill, Wingina and Buckingham. Sleet accumulations of 1 to 1.7 inches were also observed in these same communities. Key impacts: power outages; hazardous travel conditions; tree damage; schools closed.
A Cooperative Weather Observer and members of the general public observed ice accumulations ranging from 0.25 to 0.3 inches in thickness around the communities of Sheppards and Gold Hill, intermixed with sleet accumulations of up to 0.8 inches and snow accumulations of 1.5 to 4.2 inches. Key impacts: power outages; hazardous to impossible travel conditions; tree damage.
