A severe thunderstorm knocked down numerous trees within Downingtown. Approximately 30 to 35 streets had either fallen trees, tree limbs and or wires on them including West Pennsylvania Avenue and Hunt Street. Nearly 6,000 homes and businesses lost power in Chester County as the thunderstorms rolled through and Downingtown had nearly a third of them. Second was Caln Township.
