The Eden Volunteer Fire Department reported that thunderstorm winds had removed half of the roof of a barn and knocked down power lines and tree limbs about half a mile southeast of Live Oak. Winds were estimated at 75 mph.
A trained spotter reported around a half inch of ice accumulation on trees and power lines. This heavy ice accumulations brought down some large tree limbs and power lines, leaving some customers without power.
