El Dorado Springs Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
Precipitation started as rain during the afternoon of January 24th before quickly changing over to snow, with the snow then continuing into the morning of January 25th. Snow reports ranged from 1.0 to just over 2 inches across the county. The CoCoRaHS observer 3 miles NNE of Stockton reported a measured storm total of 2.2 inches of snow. Up to around 180 power outages occurred across the county due to snow. Roads became snow covered and slippery, with some schools doing early dismissals on January 24th and numerous schools closed on January 25th across the county.
This was a continuation of the storm from December 31, 2020. Utility companies report widespread power outages across the county due to ice loaded branches falling on power lines. Estimates of total flat ice accumulations between 0.40 and 0.50 inches.
Several large limbs were reported down. Power was out for nearly 5 hours and a window A/C Unit was blown into a home.
