May 23, 2012 - Lightning

A lightning strike at 630 p.m. EDT forced the early closure of the Exton Square Mall on the 23rd . There was a report of smoke coming from inside the mall and the fire was quickly extinguished. West Whiteland Township reported eight buildings, including the mall were struck by lightning. No significant damage was reported. Additionally, about 700 PECO Energy customers lost power. The mall was expected to reopen the next day.
