High wind gusts accompanied a strong low pressure system on December 23rd and continue into December 24th. Measured wind gusts across northern WV ranged between 40 to 50mph, sustain winds exceed 30mph. Isolated power outages occurred.
Media reported trees and power lines along Country Club Rd.
Tree limbs, along with a power line, were blown down east of Fairmont.
Large trees were downed, and several trees came down on power lines as well.
Emergency manager reported numerous trees and power lines down across the town of Fairmont and in the vicinity of Fairmont University.

Mon Power Using Aerial Saws to Trim Trees in Remote Areas
Mon Power, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE), is using helicopters equipped with aerial saws to trim trees and maintain electrical clearances along 23 difficult-to-access transmission line corridors in West Virginia. The work began in late May and is expected to conclude by September.
