Winds speeds of 80 to 90 mph produced widespread wind damage across Fredonia and Altoona. Numerous businesses in Fredonia had some serious roof damage. Sheds and outbuildings in rural areas were destroyed and 42 power poles were downed.
Barn destroyed. Downed power lines became entangled near a shop, severing power to most of town for about two hours. In addition, an earlier power outage occurred when lightning struck an oil switch at the town's substation.
