A severe thunderstorm knocked down several trees and transformers in Freehold. Power was lost for over an hour.
A severe thunderstorm knocked down numerous trees in Freehold Borough. All roadway entrances into the borough were blocked. Several cars were crushed and a couple of homes were destroyed by fallen trees. Free ice and water were distributed in four separate places as 4,600 residents still were without power on the evening of the 29th.
A severe thunderstorm produced wind damage along a southwest to northeast axis in Monmouth County. Wind damage was reported from Freehold Township northeast through Colts Neck Township, Middletown Township and Atlantic Highlands. The worst reported wind damage was in Middletown Township. A portion of Navasink River Road remained closed into the 15th because of downed trees. Power outages lasted into the 15th in both Middletown and Atlantic Highlands.
Several large tree limbs and wires were knocked down by a severe thunderstorm in Colts Neck and Freehold Townships. About 3,400 homes and businesses lost power in central New Jersey.
