Law Enforcement reported several trees and power lines down in the Freeport Metro area.

Trained spotters in Freeport, Illinois reported 6.0 inches of snow. Significant blowing and drifting snow was widespread over the area with white out conditions at times lingering through the day of February 12. Power outages from down power lines, power poles, and tree branch damage were widespread.
The county emergency manager reported numerous trees and power lines were down within town.
The local fire department reported a tree branch fell and brought down a power line.
Episodes
A line of showers and thunderstorms tracked east northwest Illinois Tuesday evening bringing damaging wind, occasional lightning, and heavy rain. The strong thunderstorm winds gusts of 60 to 70 MPH were reported at several locations in northwest Illinois. These winds brought down trees and powerlines as they moved through in the evening.||In addition, heavy rain occurred with the highest amounts over 1 inch common in Jo Daviess and Stephenson counties in IL.
A strong winter storm system brought heavy precipitation of 1 to 2 inches to areas along and east of the Mississippi River January 10 into January 11. Much of eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois saw a wintry mix of sleet, snow, freezing rain and freezing drizzle. Slick roads were common, with several accidents reported throughout the region. There were numerous reports of ice accumulations between a tenth and d a quarter inch. Some trees were downed from the weight of the ice and numerous power outages were reported. Snowfall amounts were generally around 1 inch in northwest Illinois.
A line of strong to severe thunderstorms developed ahead of a cold front that pushed eastward across Illinois during the evening hours. These storms brought damaging winds and frequent lightning to northwest Illinois. Several downed trees, power outages, and 40 to 60 mph winds were reported in Jo Daviess and Stephenson Counties.
A powerful storm system lifted from Central Iowa into northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin during the day on April 9th. Strong to severe thunderstorms developed in eastern Iowa during the afternoon and moved into northwest Illinois during the evening hours. These storms produced hail as large as golf balls, damaging winds of 60 to 70 mph, and two tornadoes. The tornadoes touched down near Fulton and Thomson Illinois. Both tornadoes produced EF-1 damage to mainly trees and farm outbuildings.
Showers and thunderstorms moved across the area August 20 as a trough of low pressure moved into western Iowa. Some of the storms were severe downing trees and power lines. Torrential downpours also accompanied the storms with rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches in just an hour or two. Otherwise, warm and humid conditions prevailed across the region with high temperatures topping out in the middle 80s to lower 90s.

Sometime after 1 p.m. Saturday, a fiber cable was cut between Rockford and Freeport, according to a Comcast customer service representative. They say the cut is significant and could take several hours to repair.
