Gering Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
A tornado tracked approximately 1 to 3 miles ENE of Gering, causing significant damage to a structure with debris scattered up to 1/2 mile to the west, including hazardous material. Vehicles on the property were thrown 50 feet. A small wooden trailer was thrown 1/4 mile away. Additionally, irrigation pivots were rolled numerous times and power lines were broken along Highway 26. Damage was consistent with an EF-2 tornado. Confirmed by official NWS Storm Survey.
A confirmed tornado produced a broad, diffuse area of damage along CR 24 and Highway 92 from a secondary tornadic circulation just east of the main Gering tornado. An EF-1 rating was based on a quonset collapse and broken power poles.
Dry microburst winds reported between Gering and Mitchell, NE. Some trees blown down along with isolated power outages.

1425 Sage St. we are having a Brown out, furnace, stove, and microwave not working. Lights are very dim.
City of Gering Power outage Wednesday 6/26/2019 - 9:00 PM - wife called and said the power had been out and that the freezer side of the refrigerator was the only half working. Was able to restart it and got it all going again! Power outage Monday 7/1/2019 - Early morning at 1:30 or 2 AM. - had to reset all the clocks, computer etc. Power outage Tuesday 7/2/2019 - came home at 6:30 PM - had to reset all the clocks, computer, etc. Getting to be more small outages during the day - only blinks long enough to have to reset everything and then it comes back on.
