Several trees were blown down across Pittsylvania County and the City of Danville from the remnants of Ian. In Danville, at least nine trees were blown down, including Audubon Drive, Guerrant Street, Lanier Avenue, Lexington Avenue, Mountain Hill Road, North Main Street, Schoolfield Drive and Updike Place. Other known locations were trees were blown down include Chalk Level Road and the intersection of Chestnut Level Lane and Spring Garden Road. 17,000 residents, or about 42% of the county, were without power during the peak of the storm. A peak wind gust of 51 MPH was measured at the Danville Regional Airport.
A couple of trees were downed by thunderstorm winds in the Westover Hills area, with one falling on a vehicle and the other onto a power line.

Strong winds downed three-inch limbs and broke power poles near Westover Hills. Damage values are estimated.
Skywarn-trained weather spotters and members of the general public observed ice accumulations from freezing rain ranging from 0.25 to 0.3 inches in thickness across portions of Pittsylvania County, including around the communities of Ringgold, Westover Hills, Dry Fork and Java. Key impacts: power outages; hazardous travel conditions; tree damage; schools closed.

High winds caused tree to fall onto a power line in the Ringgold area during the afternoon of February 10th. This triggered a wildfire that scorched about 100 acres off Ferguson Road.
