Wind gusts estimated to be near 65 MPH resulted in tree damage in Guide Rock. Power outages were reported due to downed tree limbs.

A line of thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts up to 80 MPH moved across the county. Numerous power poles were downed in the Inavale, Red Cloud and Guide Rock areas. Power outages were also reported. Several trees, including ones large in diameter, were damage or uprooted. In Guide Rock, a garage was blown off its foundation partially onto a roadway.

Power outages throughout weekend at Batavia assisted living facility prompts residents to leave – Shaw Local

Batavia Public Works Director Gary Holm said the problem at The Landings, 2450 W. Fabyan Parkway, was with the facility’s internal electrical system, not with the city’s electric department.
