Golf ball sized hail fell near Garber, power poles were blown down in Elkader and residents were evacuated near Osterdock because of flash flooding along the Little Turkey River and Mill Creek.
A strong low pressure system triggered isolated severe thunderstorms across parts of northeast Iowa in the evening hours of April 26th. The severe thunderstorms produced damaging winds and knocked down trees and power lines in Clayton County.
A low pressure area affected northeast Iowa during the late morning hours of July 31. Severe thunderstorms developed ahead of the system, knocking down several trees and snapping power lines.
An approaching cold front triggered a line of severe thunderstorms during the evening hours of September 30th. Wind gusts up to 70 mph were reported by law enforcement officials, which knocked down trees, power lines and caused power outages.
