Thousands of Duke Energy customers across both North and South Carolina were without power Sunday, Jan. 16. Across the Carolinas, Duke reported midday Sunday that more than 110,000 customers were without power, most due to the winter storm -- 71,000 in N. C. and 39,000 in S. C.
