Thunderstorm Wind. A line of severe storms moved across Jersey county blowing down numerous trees, tree limbs and power lines. In Jerseyville, a microburst caused extensive damage to two businesses. One business sustained roof and window damage and the other just had its windows blown out. Several of the large trees that fell, fell onto unoccupied vehicles causing severe damage. One tree fell onto a patio roof collapsing it. Several witnesses from Jerseyville indicated that winds of 60 mph and greater occurred for approximately 3 to 5 minutes with the strongest gusts occurring near the early stages of heavy rainfall.
