Strong Wind. The AWOS at nearby Starke County Airport measured a 51 mph wind gust after 8:00 AM. Frequent gusts of 40 to 50 mph from west and northwest were observed into the early afternoon. These wind gusts resulted in instances of tree damage and subsequent power outages.
