Thunderstorm Wind. Emergency management officials reported a power pole was down on State Route 5, jsut south of US 224.

Strong Wind. Huntington County Airport reported a wind gust of 54 mph during the 12 PM hour. A wind gust of 40 knots was observed during the 8 AM hour. Frequent gusts of 40 to 50 mph from west and northwest were observed in the area through the early afternoon. These wind gusts resulted in instances of tree damage and subsequent power outages.

Winter Weather. Periods of freezing rain with temperatures near freezing accumulated to between 0.10 and 0.20 across the area on New Year's Day, mainly during the morning and early afternoon hours.
