Significant tree damage occurred along Sandbar Road. Several trees were uprooted. Several large tree limbs were blown down and one fell onto a parked pickup truck. Power lines were also blown down.

A large complex of thunderstorms developed over east central Illinois, south of Interstate 80, and moved southeast during the evening of July 20th. These thunderstorms produced winds over 60 mph in several locations which blew down trees, trees limbs and power lines. A few locations received torrential rainfall. Piper City measured 2.52 inches, Coal City measured 2.31 inches, and Bourbonnais measured 2.21 inches.
Thunderstorms developed across northern Illinois during the afternoon and evening hours of June 28th. Tree limbs were blown down west of Kankakee and large trees were blown down at Illinois Route 1 and Route 17, east of Kankakee. Tree limbs were blown down in Ottawa in LaSalle county at Gentlemen Road and Third Street. Trees and tree limbs were blown down across many parts of Winnebago county. Tree limbs and power lines were blown down in Mt. Morris in Ogle county. Hail was also reported across a few locations. The largest hail, 1.50 inch diameter, fell across parts of southern Grundy county.
A major winter storm developed in the Texas Panhandle and moved northeast through southern Illinois and northeast Indiana on December 11th, causing heavy snow and ice over the area. In southern Livingston County and most of Ford and Iroquois Counties, significant accumulations of freezing rain and sleet fell, knocking out power. The ice changed to snow in the afternoon and evening and winds gusted to 25 to near 35 mph causing significant blowing and drifting snow. Mostly snow fell in northern Livingston County and most of Kankakee County. Snowfall totals included 9.1 inches at Chatsworth, 8.0 inches at Chebanse, 11.0 inches at Dwight, 9.7 inches at Momence, and 5.0 inches at Piper City. With the combination of persistently below normal temperatures and subsequent snowfalls during the remainder of the month, on January 11th, 2001, Illinois Govenor George Ryan issued a disaster declaration for the entire state. On January 17th, 2001, President Clinton declared 21 counties in Illinois, many in the northern portion of the state, as Federal Emergency Areas.
Thunderstorms developed over Kankakee and Iroquois counties, rapidly intensifying and producing a large gust front. Three miles east of Kankakee, at the intersection of Interstate 57 and Highway 17, three semi tractor-trailers were overturned from the strong winds. Roof damage was reported to buildings near the intersection. In the city of Kankakee an area two blocks by six blocks was closed due to downed trees. In Governor Small Memorial Park fifty trees were uprooted, with damage reported to the Governor Small Museum. Numerous trees and power lines were also blown down in the community of Clifton, as well as Crescent City where a large canopy over a gas station also received damage.
