Kerrville Power Outages Caused by Weather

A home owner estimated between 1/2 and 3/4 inch of ice on trees and branches in Ingram. There were reports of a significant amount of power poles down across the county due to ice. The area from Mountain Home up through Harper was the hardest hit with widespread tree damage as well.
A thunderstorm produced wind gusts estimated at 80 mph. Mobile homes were blown away from their locations and power lines and trees were blown down.
A buildup of ice and snow forced the closure of I-35 through Kerr County Monday evening. Numerous local county roads were also closed. Scores of motorists were stranded in motels along I-35 through the day on Tuesday. Many businesses and most schools remained closed on Tuesday, with delayed openings on Wednesday morning. 60 families lost electric power in the Kerrville area briefly on Monday evening.
