Numerous trees and power lines were downed in the southern sections of Kilgore.
The Sabine Fire Department reported that a tank battery was struck by lightning on Watson Road, causing the tank to catch fire. Officials stated that mud and high water prevented them from getting equipment close enough to extinguish the flames. The fire melted power lines hanging near the tanks. No injuries were reported.
Significant tree damage, structural damage, and vehicle damage was reported in Kilgore as a result of a downburst. Numerous power lines were downed.
