Kimberling City Power Outages Caused by Weather

Multiple power poles and lines were downed by high winds causing power outages.
Precipitation started as rain during the afternoon of January 24th before changing over to snow during the late afternoon, with the snow then continuing into the morning of January 25th. Snow amounts between 3 and 7.8 inches fell across the county. A public report of a measured storm total of 7.8 inches of snow was received from 2 SW of Galena, with a measured 6.0 inches in Galena and 5.0 inches in West Branson. Roads became snow covered and slippery. Around 300 power outages also occurred across the county due to the heavy snow. Some schools had early release on January 24th, with numerous schools closed on January 25th.
A National Weather Service storm survey determined that a short lived EF-1 tornado impacted areas near Branson West. The EF-1 tornado had estimated maximum winds of 90 mph along it nearly three quarters of a mile path with a maximum damage path width of 75 yards. Along the tornadoes path damage occurred to roofs and siding of 20 homes. Additionally, multiple trees and power lines were downed.
Power lines were reported down near Joe Bald Road.
Episodes
A wide area of straight line wind damage occurred between Kimberling City and Reeds Spring. Damage was extensive to condos, and single family homes in the Kimberling City area. Numerous boat docks on Table Rock Lake floated away from shore or simply were mangled or flipped over. A significant amount of trees and power lines were blown down between Kimberling City and Reeds Spring.
