WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. – A majority of Whidbey Island was without power Friday because of high winds across the Puget Sound region. Puget Sound Energy says high winds caused infrastrucutre damage to transmission lines. They are now patrolling to watch for any further damage. PSE says a majority of people on the island had their power restored by Saturday morning. On Friday, the Naval Station on Whidbey Island recorded a peak wind gust of 60 mph.
