This tornado touched down along Mississippi Highway 15 near its intersection with Ed Crowder Road, where some trees and power lines were blown down. The tornado moved northeast and uprooted and snapped several trees. It dissipated shortly after it crossed Road 201. The maximum wind speed was 90 mph.
Some trees fell onto power lines and along 15th Street due to rain saturated ground.

Strong gradient winds had blown down a power line on a service road, which had caused a small fire in a barn.
The long lived supercell storm, which moved across all of Smith County, continued into southwest Jasper County and then into and across Jones County. The supercell continued to produce penny to quarter sized hail from just southwest of Stringer to just northwest of Laurel. When the storm moved across Laurel, the hail stopped, but damaging winds occurred and they continued until the storm exited the county. In Laurel, several trees and power lines were blown down with several transformers blown. As the storm progressed southeast, sporatic wind damaged occurred as scattered trees were blown down from just east of Laurel to the Jones/Wayne County line.
