Power Outage in Lebanon, PA

High winds were briefly observed in the Lower Susquehanna Valley between 11:30pm on 10/29 and 12:30am on 10/30. The ASOS at Fort Indiantown Gap (KMUI) recorded a gust of 70 mph. Numerous trees and power lines were reported down across northern Lebanon County.

High winds produced widespread damage. Dozens of trees and utility wires were knocked down, closing several roads. At the height of the storm, 13,000 customers were without power. Several properties reported significant roof damage. In Spring Hill Acres, a large tree came through the roof of a home. South London Derry and South Annville Township also reported similar damage.

Strong to damaging non-thunderstorm winds associated with Hurricane Irene knocked down several trees and utility wires, causing widespread road closures and thousands of power outages.

Non-thunderstorm wind gusts between 55 and 65 mph toppled numerous trees and power lines across Lebanon County. A barn roof was blown off and reported on the road on King Street in South Lebanon Township. The Fort Indiantown Gap military airport recorded a peak gust of 61 mph.

Non-thunderstorm winds toppled trees, large branches and power lines across Lebanon County which resulted in several power outages.

The Muir Army Airfield/Indiantown ASOS recorded peak winds of 40 to 50 mph. The high winds downed numerous trees and utility lines, leaving several customers without power.

A moderate to heavy coating of ice was common across the entire Lower Susquehanna Valley. Lebanon County emergency management along with trained spotters reported numerous trees and wires down. MetEd electric company reported approximately 64,000 customers without power across the Lower Susquehanna Valley.||A brief period of sleet was observed at the onset of precipitation, but the heavy ice build-up was primarily due to freezing rain.

Thunderstorm winds knocked down several power poles throughout the county.

Trees were blown down on power lines in Fredericksburg.
