June 5, 2014 - Thunderstorm Wind

Straight line winds produced widespread wind damage across Poinsett County. Numerous trees and power lines were knocked down. A few trees fell onto homes producing damage. A roof was blown off a building in LePanto. The King Transportation building was completely destroyed in Trumann. A couple of tractor-trailers turned over on Highway 63 and Hwy 49 as a result of the wind.

February 24, 2011 - Thunderstorm Wind

Damaging straight line winds moved through Eastern Poinsett County. McCormick was the first town to receive damage at around 605 PM CST. Fifteen to twenty power poles were knocked down along Highway 214 just east of McCormick. Isolated tree damage was found at various spots along the path of this storms through Eastern Poinsett County. A roof was taken off of a building in Marked Tree. Power lines and a tree were knocked on to a house near Lepanto. An 18 wheeler was blown on to its side on Highway 63 near Tulot. Damaging winds then moved into Western Mississippi County.

Straight line winds knocked down five power poles in Trumann. A pivot irrigation unit and buildings at a farm store storage compound near the Craighead County border were damaged from the wind. In addtion, a house was hit with a tree in Lepanto.
