Litchfield Power Outages Caused by Weather
Events
Periods of heavy snow fell across Meeker County from Tuesday evening, through Wednesday morning. Some of the precipitation turned over to sleet, freezing rain and rain during the evening, before turning back to snow during the morning. Locally 4 to 8 inches of snow fell, with some ice accumulating on trees and power lines.
Numerous trees and power lines were blown down from near Cosmos, northeast of Cosmos where a farm was damaged.
Trees and power lines were downed in town and in scattered locations across Meeker County.
A number of trees and power lines were downed onto yards and structures in the Dassel, Darwin, Knapp, and Lake Jennie areas. The Lake Washington area was also hit hard by downed trees and power lines which damaged several vehicles and structures. High wind also flipped boats and docks and damaged a sunroom.
