Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed across the region as a frontal system pushed through. A few of these storms became severe downing trees and power lines.

Thunderstorm Wind. A NWS Storm Survey confirmed straight line wind damage in the Town of Lenox. Damage was sporadic and ranged from broken tree limbs to large diameter trees snapped and uprooted. Damage was most concentrated downwind of large open spaces or lakes. Downed trees blocked many roads and caused numerous power outages. Trees also fell onto homes and cars. Some festival tents were also blown away. The maximum estimated winds were 85 mph with a path length of 1.7 miles and width of 0.8 of a mile.

A line of severe thunderstorms with damaging winds pushed through western Massachusetts during the evening hours of March 7, 2022 resulting in numerous reports of downed trees and powerlines. Around 1,900 customers lost power.

Warm and muggy conditions were in place across western Massachusetts on Saturday, October 16, 2021 in which an approaching cold front produced a narrow cold-frontal rain band with embedded thunderstorms that swept eastward across the region. At times, this band produced strong winds resulting in localized wind damage.||There were one area of extensive wind damage, which occurred in and around Dalton. A National Weather Service Storm Survey confirmed a two-mile path of occasional wind damage with maximum estimated winds of 90 mph. Numerous trees were downed across the region, some of which fell onto homes and cars. Damage occurred to structures along the path as well. The local utility company reported roughly 1000 customers without power as a result of the storm.
