At nearby Newburgh, NY 0.4 inches of ice accretion was reported by a trained spotter and the nearby Danbury, CT Airport ASOS reported 0.37 inches of ice accretion. The combination of snow and ice created hazardous travel conditions along with downed tree limbs and power lines.
CoCoRaHS observers, trained spotters, COOP Observers, and broadcast media reported 15 to 20 inches of snowfall. Gusty winds combined with the heavy wet snow to bring down tree limbs and some power lines.
Trees and power lines were reported down at the intersection of Wood Street and Goldfinch Lane just northeast of Donald J. Trump State Park.
