A cold front moved across a moderately unstable air mass across Ontario province into northwest NY during the afternoon and early evening of July 19th. Scattered thunderstorms moved from Ontario into St. Lawrence county NY with several reports of damaging winds in the form of downed trees and powerlines.

A powerful storm system tracked across southern Canada during the evening and night of November 15th. A strong pressure gradient delivered 70-80 knot winds at and above 5000 feet from the surface. A cold front triggered some convective showers with a few isolated updrafts that tapped into the strong winds and briefly delivered 50+ knot winds to the surface in portions of St. Lawrence county.

A cold front moved across St. Lawrence county during the evening hours of June 13th. Marginal instability but strong winds aloft delivered scattered thunderstorms with isolated wind damage in the form of downed trees, limbs and power lines.

A strong cold front and upper level system approached northern NY during the afternoon of August 22nd and moved through during the night. Numerous thunderstorms moved across northern NY during the afternoon with several producing damaging winds in the form of downed trees and power lines.

A potent storm traveling across the Northern Great Lakes, Ontario and Quebec delivered very warm temperatures into the 70s across northern New York during the afternoon of February 25th. Yet, a strong cold front moved through during the afternoon hours and developed several lines of strong to severe thunderstorms that impacted much of New York and portions of western, southern New England...including portions of northern New York with some wind damage in the form of downed trees and power outages.

A weak mid-atmospheric disturbance moved across the eastern Great Lakes and southwest to northeast across St. Lawrence county New York during the evening of August 18th. Several scattered thunderstorms developed with one particular storm that rapidly intensified to produce a wet microburst that damaged a student housing apartment roof in Potsdam as well as trees and power lines downstream in Stockholm.

A weak mid-atmospheric disturbance moved along a stationary front across the eastern Great Lakes into western New York during the afternoon of August 11th. The air mass this traveled across was marginally unstable and thus produced isolated thunderstorms. One thunderstorm briefly pulsed upwards in intensity and produced an isolated wind gust that knocked down several branches and a tree in the town of Gouverneur, which resulted in approximately 250 residents without power.

On May 9th, a surface low and cold front moved from the Great Lakes across northern New York and Vermont, along a stationary boundary draped across the Adirondacks and central Vermont. This stationary boundary separated the cool, moist and stable air to the north, from the warm, moist and unstable air south. In addition a long-lived, strong mid-level shortwave and associated thunderstorm complex traveled across the Great Lakes and along this boundary across New York during the afternoon hours. ||Severe thunderstorms and a developing squall line produced large hail up to an inch in diameter as well as damaging winds that knocked down trees and power lines to portions of southern St. Lawrence and Essex counties. Aerial photographs of tree damage in far northwest Essex county (9 NW Newcomb) showed evidence of possible micro burst activity as a hundred or so trees were flattened.

A strong low pressure system was located across the Tennessee River Valley during the morning of the 16th and tracked northeast across New York during the night of the 16th. |An area of convective showers and thunderstorms developed ahead of this storm and moved across northern New York during the evening hours. These showers and thunderstorms tapped into a strong low-level windfield, generated by the strong low pressure system, and produced scattered wind damage in the form of trees and powerlines down in portions of St. Lawrence, Franklin and Essex counties.

A strong storm system over the northern Great Lakes region on the morning of November 6th moved northeast into Canada. It reached northern Quebec the late night of November 6th. The associated cold front moved west to east across the area during the late afternoon and evening of November 6th. Strong thunderstorms developed along and ahead of this front, and a few became severe as they transported strong winds aloft to the surface. Trees and power lines were blown down in De Kalb and Potsdam as these storms moved across St Lawrence county.

A strong storm system over the northern Great Lakes region on the morning of November 6th moved northeast into Canada. It reached northern Quebec the late night of November 6th. The associated cold front moved west to east across the area during the late afternoon and evening of November 6th. Strong thunderstorms developed along and ahead of this front, and a few became severe as they transported strong winds aloft down to the surface. Thunderstorms moved from Piercefield in St Lawrence county into Franklin county across Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake regions with a path of trees and power lines blown down. Some side roads were blocked by downed trees between Piercefield and Tupper Lake. Another cluster of thunderstorms moved across Duane Center with large branches and power lines blown down. Numerous power outages were reported across New York's Franklin county.

A cold front across western Quebec and southeast Ontario Provinces early on the morning of July 5th, moved southeast across northern New York during the afternoon. Thunderstorms preceded and accompanied this front. Thunderstorms were severe in St Lawrence county, with trees reported blown down on power lines in the localities of De Peyster, Heuvelton and Canton.

A humid airmass was established across northern New York. A weak cold front along the Canadian and New York border during the morning, triggered afternoon thunderstorms. In West Stockholm, numerous trees were uprooted and tree limbs were blown down. Power lines were also blown down with power outages reported.

A cold front moved from the Great Lakes region early Friday (May 31st) and moved across northern New York during the afternoon of May 31st. This front was preceded and accompanied by thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms moved across St Lawrence county of New York with trees and power lines blown down in South Colton while power lines were blown down with damage to a horse trailer in Gouverneur.

An area of low pressure moved across New York State during the day of the 24th, with the associated cold front moving through the region during the evening. Thunderstorms preceded and accompanied this system especially during the afternoon. Trees and power lines were blown down by thunderstorm winds in both Ogdensburg and Massena, New York.

Thunderstorms developed in an unstable airmass ahead of a surface trough during the evening hours in portions of northern New York. Trees and power lines were blown down in Hammond. In Gouverneur winds were estimated at 58 mph (50 Knots) with 1/2 inch diameter hail.
