A tree was blown onto a house, tearing a hole in its roof. A large oak tree was knocked down near the golf course. Numerous power lines were blown down around town.

One store in town sustained roof damage when an air conditioning unit was blown over. A semi was blown over on I-57 east of Mattoon. No injuries were reported.

Thunderstorm winds blew down several large trees, tree limbs and power lines. In Charleston, a light pole at a local ball diamond was blown down, damaging the fixture, as well as a section of fencing.
