Winds gusted between 35 and 50 mph for several hours. A gust to 46 mph was recorded on the Tara Field AWOS (KHMP) in Hampton. Numerous trees and power lines were blown down across the county.

The roofs were blown off of hangars at the airport and the roof was blown off of a shop in the Kellytown area. Local news media reported numerous trees and power lines blown down across the county. Dozens of structures sustained damage, some extensive, from falling trees and large limbs. A wind gust of 40 mph was measured near Luella and a trained storm spotter and amateur radio operator using a hand-held wind gauge reported sustained wind speeds of 40-45 mph with gusts to 51 mph. Radar estimated between 2.5 and 5 inches of rain fell across the county with 4.24 inches measured near Kelleytown. No injuries were reported.

A significant winter storm impacted north and portions of central Georgia on Tuesday the 11th and Wednesday the 12th. For areas south of the Atlanta Metropolitan area and into central Georgia, the event began Wednesday morning the 12th. Rain mixed with and changed over to freezing rain through the morning hours, resulting in ice accretions of a tenth (0.1) to a third (0.33) of an inch of ice. Widespread power outages were reported, with some customers without power for over two days. The event ended as a round of light snow Wednesday evening.

At one of the affected homes, a person was trapped and injured. The person was later extricated and taken to a local medical facility. Seventy-five roads across the county were impacted by downed trees and power lines, including Interstate-75 near mile marker 216.

The maximum snowfall reported was 3.0 inches. Several trees and power lines were brought down by the weight of the heavy wet snow.

A storm survey conducted by the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed that the EF2 tornado, that first touched down in northeast Clayton county, northeast of Morrow, continued into Henry county, but weakened to an EF0. The tornado entered Henry county approximately four miles north of Stockbridge and continued on an east to east-southeastward track across northern Henry county and then into southern Rockdale county. The tornado entered Rockdale county approximately three miles north of Whitehouse or about four miles south-southeast of Panola Mountain State Park. Damage was confined to an intermittent path of tree and power line damage. No structural damage was reported within Henry county from this tornado.

The Henry County Emergency Management Director reported that lightning strikes set fire to three homes in the McDonough area. In addition, at least three power poles were struck as well, leaving a number of residents without power during the evening.

A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia concluded that another tornado had touched down in Henry county. This time, an F0 tornado touched down approximatly one mile west of McDonough near Interstate-75 and travelled north for approximately 1/2 mile causing moderate structural damage to a church and several homes in the area. A number of trees and power lines were also blown down in the area. The path width of the tornado was about 200 yards.

A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia confirmed a third tornado touch down in Henry county. This tornado was rated an F1. The tornado travelled on the ground for a distance of approximately seven miles terminating near the South River and the Rockdale county line. The tornado travelled largely through rural areas and as such damage was confined mainly to trees and power lines in the area. The path width for the tornado was approximately 300 yards wide.
