Winter Weather. Precipitation started as rain during the afternoon of January 24th before changing over to snow during the late afternoon, with the snow then continuing into the morning of January 25th. Snow amounts between 2.5 and 5.3 inches fell across the county. A trained spotter reported a measured storm total of 5.3 inches of snow in Bolivar, with a measured 4.5 inches of snow in Morrisville. Roads became snow covered and slippery. Around 200 power outages also occurred across the county due to the heavy snow. Some schools had early release on January 24th, with numerous schools closed on January 25th.
