Montrose Power Outages Caused by Weather

The Laurens County 911 Center reported that up to a dozen trees and five power lines were down across the western part of the county from Montrose, to Dudley, and Dexter. Three trees were down on the eastbound side of Interstate-16 near mile marker 42.
A damage survey conducted by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia and additional information received from the Laurens County Emergency Management Director concluded that extensive straight-line wind damage affected nearly all of Laurens county in addition to three separate tornadoes that tracked across the county, two in the north and one in the southeast part of the county. Numerous trees and power lines were downed throughout the county, but especially the northern sections.
