June 12, 2011 - Thunderstorm Wind

Numerous trees were blown down along a swath from near Burnsville to near Morven. Within this swath, multiple trees were blown down onto power lines near Wadesboro, causing at least one transformer fire. Also in Wadesboro, a tree fell onto a car, but no damage information was available.

September 7, 2004 - Tornado

A tornado touched down just northeast of Morven along Highway 145. Trees and power lines were blown down along the road and two turkey barns were destroyed, with thousands of turkeys killed. The damage was generally contained to an area off Highway 145, Diggs Road and Old NC 85.
