Thunderstorm Wind. Severe thunderstorms caused wind damage across Taylorsville. Power poles were snapped and trees fell onto a mobile home, trailer and a house in town. Trees and power lines were blown down in town as well.

Tropical Storm. Tropical storm force wind gusts downed multiple trees and power lines across the county including at least 6 in the Polkville area.

Ice Storm. Freezing rain accumulated on trees and power lines across the county through the afternoon and evening. Numerous trees were downed by the weight of up to 0.50 inches of ice in some locations. Power lines were also downed across several highways in the county, including one which had caught fire in Raleigh.
February 17, 2021
Winter Storm. A mixture of freezing rain and sleet fell across the county. Significant ice accumulation occurred across the northern half of the county, where three tenths to one half of an inch accumulation occurred. One and a half to two inches of sleet accumulated. There was significant icing on trees and power lines. Numerous limbs and power lines were brought down along with numerous trees. Roads were iced over. A large tree branch was brought down onto a house due to the icing just east of Taylorsville.
