March 12, 2006 - Tornado

Continuation of tornado from Scott county. The damage across Scott and Morgan counties consisted primarily of damage to trees, power poles, and outbuildings, as well as mainly minor damage to homes and businesses. No injuries or fatalities were reported. Total tornado path length 9.8 miles in WFO Central Illinois service area.

The southern bow echo storm moved into Morgan County 3 miles southwest of Murrayville and moved northeast across the county. Numerous trees, tree limbs, power poles, and power lines were blown down. No injuries were reported.

May 26, 2000 - Tornado

A tornado touched down just southwest of Murrayville then moved northeast through town. It lifted and dissipated one mile northeast of town. In town, a large tree was blown over onto a home causing major damage to it and a car parked nearby. None of the home's occupants were injured. A garage was destroyed and the two vehicles parked in it were damaged. Also, a lumber yard was destroyed. On the northeast side of town a grain bin was destroyed and a church lost seven stained glass windows. Also, it sustained minor roof damage. Throughout town numerous trees, tree limbs, and power lines were blown down.

May 8, 2000 - Thunderstorm Wind

Thunderstorm winds created a path of damage across southern Morgan County. Numerous trees and power lines were blown down. In Woodson, a tree fell onto a house causing minor damage. No one in the home was injured. Further northeast on the southeast side of Lake Jacksonville, a tree fell onto a home causing major damage. One of the home's occupants sustained minor injuries after being trapped beneath the debris.
